Christmas is When???????????

So with all the best intentions, I started knitting my Christmas presents a while back, as I'm sure many of you have done. And then things started to go off the rails. The project I started for a special bookshop owner I know, wasn't turning out the way I thought it was. It was following the pattern but I just wasn't like it. So I frogged it.

I found a different pattern for a wrap that I liked, it is very easy and simple, just what I need because now I'm behind schedule. So I decided to jazz it up a bit with some striping. So what, it I had stayed with the program I wouldn't be battling two huge balls of yarn that now make it inconvenient to travel with this project and work on it in stolen moments, like on my lunch break. No I am reduced to working on it only at home. But I love it and everyone is getting one of this year! As long as I can get this one done. I vow to get it completed this weekend, but so far my knitting time has been limited to between 11:30pm and 1:00 am. Doesn't leave a lot of time for sleep. So much so that when I got up with morning to make homemade soup and bread and went for my K-cup I put the cup in the machine the mug under the dispenser and pressed the button. Easy right? Sure, I mean K-Cups are simple and time saving. Isnt' that what all the ads say? Unless your the time of person who needs a cup of coffee to make a cup of coffee. The machine stopped made it's little final sigh to let me know it was done. and I started searching for the lid to the travel mug I had just brewed my coffee into. I looked everywhere knowing I just had it as I had the cup in my hand. Oh wait, what's this? the lid is on the cup, the coffee is all over the place, great. Well thankfully some of the coffee found it's way into that little hole intended for drinking and I was able to get a couple of sips in me and straighten this mess out.

Bring me my knitting!

Well the dust has settled from the Olympics and the Ravellenic Games. I hope everyone enjoyed them both! They were both exciting. And congratulations to everyone who participated in both!

Getting it Down!

How is everyone handling this weather, especially here in the south east? They are calling for more than 10 inches of snow in some places, we haven't had that much snow here since 1979-1980 and then we got 26 inches. I loved it! Of course, I didn't have to work back then so I was under no obligation to go anywhere and do anything other than snow cream, snow forts, and snow angels.

This time may be a different matter.

But, fingers crossed for a snow day and I can stay home and do some knitting and writing. And as I love my Evernote for storing patterns and making notes for a future project, (knitting or writing) I do enjoy the act of writing with pen and paper.

Today I received the most awesome paper in the form a handmade leather bound journal.
Check this out!
I ordered it online at Etsy I can't say enough good things about the service I received and the quality of the work. Please go check out her other items. She has some really nice bags! It is money well spent.

All Souls

So who here is waiting a little impatiently for the next installment of the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness? Show of hands.
So there are a few of you out there, tapping your foot and clinging to the edge of your seat in anticipation of the third book, The Book of Life? I loved the first two so much!  I may have to re-read them before July.

And if you have read the first two, The Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night, there is still time. What are you waiting for? Quick download it, buy it, check it out from the library or something, but you have to read this series!
